There are a number of ways you can access psychological support at Amara Wellness & Psychology. If you are unsure which option is right for you, our friendly team can help you understand your options and what you need to do next.
You do not always need a referral to see a psychologist. The pathway you use will depend on your individual circumstances and how you plan to fund your appointments.

A Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, Paediatrician or Psychiatrist may allow you to access Medicare rebates for eligible psychology appointments.

If you have Extras cover, you may be able to claim a rebate for eligible psychology appointments. You can also book a private appointment at our North Perth practice without a referral or private health insurance.
Please note: You can’t claim both a Medicare and private health insurance rebate for the same appointment.

We provide psychological support for eligible NDIS participants (self-managed and plan-managed), with a focus on practical strategies, capacity building and goals that are meaningful to you

Psychological support may be available as part of an accepted WorkCover or Motor Vehicle Insurance claim following a workplace injury or motor vehicle accident.

If your workplace offers an Employee Assistance Program, you may be able to access confidential psychological support through your employer.

You don’t always need a referral from a GP or other medical professional to see a psychologist at Amara Wellness & Psychology. Private psychology appointments are available at our North Perth practice.

Understanding referrals, funding and rebates can be confusing. If you’re unsure what you’re eligible for or how to access an appointment, contact our team. We can help you understand your options and next steps:
